Nothing you ever wanted to know about Polish Immigrants and the Catholic Church

So, in an effort to actually do something fun with my history paper, I thought I'd post my progress here. Here's what I've got so far:

The Role of the Roman Catholic Church in the

Lives of Polish Immigrants to America

Coming to America as immigrants, people are forced to at least adjust to American culture, if not assimilate completely. Once there is an established group of immigrants of a nationality or ethnic group, organizations are started to aid in the transitioning of immigrants from their original culture to American culture and to provide a support network for the immigrants.

For Poles in America, their support network was largely centered on the Roman Catholic Church, which had its official beginnings in America in 1789, when its first bishop, John Carroll, was appointed (Liptak 3). As the numbers of Polish immigrants to America grew, so too did the relationship between the immigrants and the Church become more intertwined.

I'm suprised it took me till post 3 to make this :D

Any way, Friday night at 9:00 will be the reputation grind super happy fun time. We'll meet up in Felwood and head north to the norther camp. It's the same rep no matter which camp we do, both give 5 points a kill, but the norther ones drop Runecloth rather than Mageweave. We can really clean up on that stuff!

So yeah, there you have it.

What's Really Up?

Andy is stuck at school till 4:00 and his computer is on the fritz, so he might not be able to take a look at the site. Chris has yet to even get back to me. I'll be on campus till about 6:00 or so tonight. So yeah, the boards may be down for a while unless this is something that will fix itself.

I'm guess the cgi-bin is fucked since I can't access the old boards either.

Anyway quantum physics is awesome. Read about it! N. David Mermin wrote a great article in the early 80's called Quantum Mysteries for Anyone. If you can find it, you should read it. If you can't find it, get into the quantum state to do so! Fucker!
